SPRING VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: 20- Year- Old Man Walking on Sidewalk Alongside Campo Road Near Cordoba Avenue, Killed by Hit-And-Run Driver, Jason Palmer, 33

SPRING VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (October 28, 2013) – A 20-year-old man was killed while walking home from work on the sidewalk along Campo Road near Cordoba Avenue at about 3:45 a.m..  Friends confirmed to the press that the victim was named Jacob Greenwald. Greenwald was a recent graduate of Grossmont High school and worked at the McDonald’s Restaurant near state Route 94 and Avocado Boulevard.

He was described by people as being a “sweet guy.” Greenwald was working to save up fro school. Family and friends are holding a vigil tonight for Greenwald. Jason Michael Palmer was arrested for hit-and-run after his license plate was found at the scene of the wreckage. This is not Palmer’s first run-in with the law and he has an extensive criminal record, according to law enforcement.

Palmer hit Greenwald with is Toyota 4-Runner SUV and there was extensive wreckage at the scene. It was shocking more many people to see so much wreckage and chaos, and someone would just drive away without considering that a man was clearly dead from being hit, according to witnesses and medical personnel. Palmer was taken to jail after his cell phone was pinged and he was located after the fact. He is being charged with suspicion of felony-hit-and-run and felony manslaughter.

“This is such a tragedy for this young man and his family. He obviously had worthwhile goals and wanted to make a future for himself, this was a wrongful death in every sense of the word,” states attorney West Seegmiller.
