Male Worker Falls 150 Feet From MGM Grand Marquee

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (July 31, 2013) – A male worker fell 150 feet this morning from a marquee at The MGM Grand construction site, according to Metro Police. The man was immediately transported to the UMC Trauma center and his injuries remain uncertain. A spokesperson for MGM Resorts, Yvette Monet, stated the following: “There has been an incident at MGM Grand involving a construction contractor and emergency crews have responded.”

A call was placed from the site at about 9:40 a.m. this morning. A witness said they saw a person falling near the MGM Grand. According to the witness, the man fell as he was removing equipment from a sign. The man fell onto landscaping underneath the Marquee. MGM Grand Security personnel came to the scene and found the victim, and moments later he was transported to the hospital, according to the Clark County Fire Department. So far it is known that the man had serious injuries. Details and the man’s identity have yet to be reported.
