HOMELAND, California — Jose Gonzalez, 62, of Homeland was struck early Thursday morning by an SUV and killed along State Route 74 ear Ritter Avenue, according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner Department.
About 5:40 a.m., Gonzalez was traveling by foot on the roadway when for unknown reasons the driver of the SUV struck him.
The California Highway Patrol’s Temecula office is investigating the pedestrian crash to determine what led to the crash.
