Pedestrian killed

SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (July 29, 2015)– An allegedly drunk driver struck and killed William Davenport on Chapman Avenue near Feldner Road, an article by OC Register stated. (map)

According to the report, Davenport was just crossing the Chapman Avenue when a westbound black sedan hit him. The local paramedics quickly arrived at the scene but Davenport was already lifeless.

The driver, Michael James Mendez, was arrested for driving under the influence.

“According to experts drivers are responsible majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said West Seegmiller, a Santa Ana pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
