Collided with SUV

SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA (May 29, 2016) – Sunday afternoon, Joshua Persons was killed in a motorcycle versus vehicle accident on SR 138, near I-15, according to the coroner’s office. (map)

At about 1:28 p.m., a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on the state route when it veered onto oncoming traffic during a curve, resulting into a collision with an SUV towing a pontoon boat. The motorcyclist, identified as 26-year-old Joshua Ryan Persons, sustained major head injuries even though he was wearing a helmet. Persons was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

WHEATLAND, CALIFORNIA (May 29, 2016) – Sunday afternoon, five people were hurt and one person remained missing after a boat overturned on Camp Far West Lake, according to the sheriff’s department. (map)

At about 5:30 p.m., a boat was hit by the wake of another boat. As a result, the craft carrying six people overturned and was torn in half. Five victims were already found while another passenger remained missing. Three of them were sent to various hospitals because of undisclosed injuries, while two remained uninjured.

SANGER, CALIFORNIA (May 29, 2016) – This afternoon, a child was reportedly hurt in a car accident on South Del Rey Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

At about 6:11 p.m., authorities received a report of a traffic collision on the avenue. Responding paramedics did not specify how many people were injured, but it was noted that a child was hurt. The victim was described only as a 3-year-old.

Investigation is ongoing.

LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (May 29, 2016) – Two people were injured in a multiple vehicle collision on Artesia Freeway, near Downey Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

It was not clear how it happened, but four or five vehicles were involved in a traffic accident on the eastbound lanes of the freeway. Two motorists were reportedly hurt in the crash. They were transported to a hospital because of minor injuries.

The incident is still under the investigation of authorities.

 Victims involved in motorcycle race

MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA (May 29, 2016) – Two motorcyclists were killed following a fatal motorcycle accident at Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca last Sunday, according to Monterey County Sheriff’s Department officials. (map)

The victims were later identified as 35 year-old Bernat Martinez and 27 year-old Daniel Rivas Fernandez. According to police reports the victims were killed following a chain-reaction crash during the first lap of a World Superbike Race held in Laguna Seca at Mazda Raceway. Both victims were killed on scene. No other injuries were reported as of press time.

Police authorities are now conducting an investigation of this accident.
