Major collision kills at least one person in Mill Valley

MILL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (May 23, 2015) – A violent crash on the U.S. Highway 101 resulted in at least one fatality, according to a press release from the Contra Costa Times.

The collision was reported at abot 4:30 a.m. near the Seminary Drive off ramp of the US-101 Freeway, CHP officials said.

The collision caused the two right-hand lanes and an exit lane to be blocked and debris littered all over the roadway, reportedly.  A light pole was also damaged, according to the article.

Currently, there are no leads as to how the crash occurred.  There was no information released on the amount of people injured in this crash.  The identity of the deceased will be revealed once next-of-kin is notified.

Victim killed after solo vehicle crash south of State Route 58

KRAMER JUNCTION, CALIFORNIA (May 23, 2015) – According to a coroner press release, there was an adult male who was killed in a solo vehicle crash on the State Route 395 just south of State Route 58 on Friday morning.

The crash occurred when the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 395 south of Highway 58 at approximately 11:24 a.m.

The driver lost control due to unknown reasons and veered off-road, rolling over several times before the vehicle was finally at rest.

The victim was ejected out of his vehicle afterwards and suffered severe upper body trauma, police said.

California Highway Patrol officers along with San Bernardino County Fire personnel arrived and the victim was unfortunately pronounced dead at 11:59 p.m.  The identity of the victim has been withheld until next-of-kin has been notified.

Two people died after vehicle lost control and veered offroad

POPE VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (May 23, 2015) –According to a California Highway Patrol press release, there was a deadly single-vehicle crash Friday evening that killed two people on Butts Canyon Road barely more than a mile north of James Creek Road.

The crash was reported at about 10 p.m. Friday evening, according to CHP.

Officers said that the unidentified driver of a 2005 Saab was traveling southbound on Butts Canyon Road when the vehicle suddenly lost control.

The car turned in a counter-clockwise direction, crossing into the northbound lane before veering off the roadway, according to San Jose Mercury News.

The vehicle collided with several rocks before continuing to roll down an embankment for fifty feet, where finally, the engine ignited and the car was engulfed in flames, stated the article.

The driver and passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene, being killed instantly.

From the report, it is unclear if the occupants had their seat belts on or whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, officers said.

The identities of the victims killed in the crash were withheld in the report, and will be released once next-of-kin has been notified.

Further information will be released as the story develops and there is more readily available information made by the leading investigative party in this fatal crash.

Vehicle veered off roadway and crashed on right shoulder

SUNOL, CALIFORNIA (May 23, 2015) –According to a California Highway Patrol incident report, there was a traffic collision that occurred on Saturday morning just south of the Sheridan exit on the northbound Interstate 680, killing at least one occupant in the vehicle.

The report indicates that the occurrence happened when a gold sedan lost control and veered offroad at 9:53 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 680 just south of the Sheridan Road exit.

Paramedics arrived to treat the injured, but despite their attempts the victim had already been pronounced dead at the site of the vehicle wreckage, forty feet away from the roadway.

The county coroner confirmed the death at 10:27 a.m.  The victim’s identity has been withheld until next-of-kin has been notified.

Driver goes off road, down ravine

TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA (May 22, 2015) – A black Dodge Charger drove off the roadway on State Route 74 by the Upper San Juan Campground.

The accident took place around 1:39 PM. A witness to the accident told police that the car swerved to avoid another vehicle that was traveling in his lane. It appears as if the driver was trying to pass another vehicle.

The Charger went off the road down a ravine about 40-50 feet below. However, the driver only sustained minor injuries. An ambulance was sent to the scene of the accident in order to assist to treat the driver.
